Weight Loss Diary of a Determined woman

Last year at this time my own weight tipped the scales at 255 pounds.  I was 31 years old and there is no way I should have weighed that much.  I had tried the fad diets in the past I even went to weight watchers for 10 week stints but as soon as stopped going I went back to being the way I was.  I even tried the starvation method and that is when I really packed on the pounds.  For some reason my body did not like this method.  I learned that I actually have to eat in order to lose the weight.  For me it is all about portion control.  I have learned over the past year that if I eat at least 3 times a day I can lose the weight.  It might take a little longer to do it but it comes off.  Being a woman that is forced to walk with a cane, due to an injury I had gotten when I weighed 120 pounds, and not able to do exercises I am still dropping the weight.  I know everyone has seen the Biggest Loser and thinks that is how it should be done.  But in reality we don’t have time to spend all day in the gym with a personal trainer and who really just wants to eat chicken and rice or salad everyday for the rest of their lives?  I know I don’t as I am sure many of you out there don’t.

You have to drink water in order to keep yourself hydrated; this will also help you from feeling like you are starving all the time.  If you can’t choke down water try flavored water.  Never deprive yourself of anything because that is when we tend to over indulge when we actually eat the item we are craving.  You want a chocolate bar then buy one and eat half of it and save the rest in the refrigerator for the next day.  Try eating a salad with dinner every night.  A small salad with some fat free or light dressing will help you fill up faster and then you won’t eat as much.  I am proud to say that with just doing what I have said here I am now down to 212 pounds.  I know that doesn’t seem to be a lot to some of us but losing it in a slow progression is better than dropping it all at once.  You tend to keep it off longer losing it slower.  With these helpful tips and some others you to can fight that battle and win.
